Tragic Heroes
Guild Charter
Mission
Tragic Heroes is chartered this day, May 15th, 3174 (16 April 2002) to
be a boon for the residents of Saryrn. Guild members will do all
within their power to help those in need achieve what they could not
alone, be it fellow guildmate or fledgling adventurer met on the road.
Leadership

Tragic Heroes is an oligarchy, a council-lead organization. A
six-person Council, consisting of four officers, the guild leader, and
the non-voting Treasurer, (revised March 7th, 2005) will dispute all matters requiring the
approval of guild leadership, including member invitations, guild
treasury management, member discipline, and other general issues of
the guild. Council members will hold their positions until such time
as they see fit to resign their post, or until disciplinary action
forces them to abandon their office.
Membership
Membership in the Tragic Heroes guild is governed by the Ground Rules.
Conduct
Guild members should realize that their actions and behavior reflect
directly on the name and reputation of the guild, as well as their own
personal image. Guild members should follow proper etiquette at all
times in all matters. Punishable offenses include (but are not limited
to) kill-stealing, ninja-looting, rude or inappropriate behavior,
acting in a manner inconsiderate of other guild members or contrary
to the well being of the guild,
and making blanket statements in the name of the guild without first
consulting the Council. Failure to abide by these rules will cause the
member to be brought before the Council on the charge of Conduct
Unbecoming a Guild Member. The Council will then reach a decision
regarding guilt or innocence, as well as punishment. Punishments can
include warnings, denial of guild services, fines, and even removal
from the guild.
Raids
The guild encourages all members to participate in guild raids.
Official raids will be held on an approximately weekly basis, with
impromptu raids called by guild members from time to time as well.
Although looting rules will vary from raid to raid, some common rules
will still apply:
-
Members desiring an item possibly dropped during the raid should
notify the raid leader prior to the raid. The leader can then
reserve any drops for those that have requested them.
-
All cash gained from raids will be disbursed by the will of the
Council, to the treasury and/or the participating members as
needed.
-
Any non-reserved items looted during a raid may be distributed to
the raiding party by the raid leader based on need and
desirability. In any conflict, members will roll for the right to
have the item. Any unclaimed items will be sold to be included in
the cash disbursement for the raid.
-
A list of items won by members on past raids will be maintained.
This list will be available to the raid leaders so that they can
better judge who needs to receive any new items that drop. In other
words, we do not keep a formal raid point system, but we do make an
effort to see that drops are fairly distributed among raid
participants.
-
Guild members can make suggestions for future raids by posting
their requests to the "Wish List" section of the message board.
Raid leaders will use these suggestions when planning new raids,
and again, to ensure that all of our raid participants are fairly
rewarded for helping each other out.
Guild Treasury
The guild maintains a common treasury of coin for use by the guild
members. Guild members may use the treasury for the following:
-
The primary purpose of the treasury is to provide funds for running
guild events and raids. For example, guild funds are often used to
buy peridots so that everyone can be properly buffed up without
cost to our clerics. Coffins may also be purchased from guild funds
in the event of a nasty CR on a raid.
-
Members may request funds from the treasury for a specific purpose.
The Council has final say on these matters, and any need to repay
the grant will be based on the situation and the decision of the
Council.
-
The treasurer may, at his discretion, accept item loot from
members, which will be sold to fund the treasury.
-
Otherwise, the treasury does not accept items. If you have items
that you want to pass along to other guild members, please make you
own arrangements through the "Guild Marketplace" section of the
messageboard.
The Treasury will be maintained by the Treasurer. The Treasurer is an
ex-officio member of the Council, able to participate in
Council discussions but unable to vote on these matters. (If the
office of Treasurer is held by a Council member, then that Councilor
retains all voting rights.) The Treasurer will be responsible for
managing the guild treasury, including funds and equipment, and should
maintain one or more alternate characters exclusively for this purpose
which are in a location easily accessible from all of Norrath.
Miscellaneous
Guild members with trade skills are expected to offer their skills to
other members for no compensation if all materials are provided.
Reasonable prices for time and materials should be charged otherwise.
